No Third Party Notifications
So the other day I had to restore my iPhone, and as a result then had to re-pair my Apple Watch (and then restore it from a backup). I've noticed that since doing so I get no third party notifications on my watch. Even though I go into the notifications pane in the Apple Watch app, turn on the notifications I want for certain apps, none are being sent through to the watch.
The weird thing is that OS notifications seem to be working okay - I get text message alerts, and activity updates, etc. but any third party app that I have set to go through never arrives.
Anyone else experienced this? Do I need to reset my watch again?
It may help to close all open apps on your iPhone and then restart both your iPhone and your watch:
- On your iPhone, double-click on the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview to close it;
- Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first;
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off.
- To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
It may also help to open each of the affected third-party apps on your iPhone - and also on your watch, if they also offer an Apple Watch app. Notifications from those apps may then resume.
