Adding Talktalk email to Ipad

IPAD - IOS 9.3.1

A friends' talktalk email was working perfectly on their ipad until recently. They are still receiving messages via their Iphone 4 but not on the ipad, following the relevant help sections from apple and talktalk they deleted the email account from the ipad and tried to re-add it. However now they are receiving the message "This Gmail account is already added. This (null) account has already been added to your ipad"

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Unfortunately I don't know, and they are unable to tell me what Ipad version they have.

Hi, may I ask whether you have any other email accounts set up on your iPad?

Hi I understand that my friend has a gmail account set up on the ipad. When she was trying to re-add her talktalk email address apparently the correct way to add it is via "other account", we even tried to put the password in wrong so as to get manual input of the details up, it works when I try it on my ipad, but it does not work on their's, she just gets the Gmail account already set up message.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Just to clarify she is preforming the following steps. Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>Other>Add Mail Account and then entering the account details. Also, has she tried removing the G-Mail account as well and re-adding them both? I appreciate your reply.

I was going to see about removing the gmail account and re-adding that after the talktalk one. But wasn't sure. Do you think this might help?

Yes, if you remove all of the accounts, and add the talktalk one first, theoretically there is no 'G-Mail account already added' then try adding the gmail account again and hopefully she'll have both accounts set up. If the iPad refuses to add the accounts at all afterwards, we can be sure that it is not account related, but an iPad related issue.
