How can I get Siri to automatically read my text messages to me as I recieve them?
In the Introducing Siri video, there was a bit here a blind woman got an SMS and Siri read it to her straight away, without even needing to ask Siri to do so. How do I enable that feature? I looked in the Accessability section, and couldnt see it. Am I missing something?

I would like to know too! I turned on "Speaks Notification" under Voice Over setting. It doesn't read texts like the commerical. Hope someone can tell us!
you have to turn on Voice Over and Speaks Notification under Setting. Then it will say "you have a text from whoever". Siri doesn't notify you when you get a message unless you ask. I watched the commerical. The voice " you got a message from Sandy Chen" is Voice Over not Siri's voice.
Why in the world would you want that? That's just trouble waiting to happen. LOL. Your standing in your bosses office when a text from a buddy gets blurted out loud! Your at dinner with your girlfriend and Siri starts reading a text from another girl! I see a lot of awkward moments in your future if you do get it turned on.
I cna't find this either - it seems to have to say 'read text' when it arrives. You can say 'read text from xxxx' and you can say 'read email from xxx' which works well.
My Voice Over will not stay on. I turn it on, and press OK, and then it just turns itself off. What else can I do, or is that a problem with my phone? Thanks.
Not available in ios 9. My Windows Phone did this automatically. Siri lacks sophistication. This function should be completely hands free for driving safety
If you were really concerned about safety you would ignore text messages while driving.
Agreed, but I am also a realist. As long as the technology is available, people will continue to use it. Laws that have been passed against texting, will not stop it. It is the highest used feature of a cellphone. Consequently, if people ARE going to use it, why not make it as safe as possible? This is the age of instantaneous communication, like it or not.
Are you saying that, since laws against something, let's say, theft, haven't worked, we should try to make it easier for people to steal so they do less property damage?
What makes you think listening to Siri read a text is safe? The problem isn't what your hands are doing. The problem is what your mind is doing.
